Light It Up and Watch Them Bleed explores the uneasy tension between good intentions and flawed execution.

The painting began from a place of catharsis and restraint. A calm blue underlayer establishes a sense of serenity, while veils of red and yellow push through the surface like wounds. What begins in balance gradually shifts towards instability.

The work considers the paradox of controlled burning: an act intended to protect, renew and regenerate, yet one capable of becoming destructive when intervention exceeds understanding. Here, regeneration slips into recklessness, and care begins to resemble control.

The painting extends that tension beyond fire itself, asking a broader question about human intervention: whether the systems and innovations we create for the future will genuinely nurture the world, or whether our desire to manage and improve it may ultimately scorch the very thing we are trying to save.
