about

I’m Davey Neil — an artist, husband, a dad of three girls, and a bloke from the Perth Hills now living and painting in Denmark/Kwoorabup, Western Australia. My path here hasn’t been straight. I’m a sparky, was a DJ, tried my hand at film and acting, even scribbled novels that never saw the light of day. But nothing ever felt like home until I picked up a brush.

Painting became my way to make sense of the world — a kind of noisy meditation. I don’t chase perfection. I paint the cracks, the scars, the frayed threads that weave us all together. Because life isn’t polished, and neither are we.

Through my work, I’m not just telling my story — I’m holding up a mirror to ours. I believe imperfection deserves to be celebrated, that love sits quietly at the centre of everything, and that art has the power to remind us who we really are beneath all the noise.

This isn’t just about paintings on a wall. It’s about connection. It’s about remembering that we’re in this together — messy, flawed, and beautifully human.
