I painted Egon because he was, and still is, one of the best in the world. A brother in art who walked the same stage I intend to walk — unafraid to show the cracks, the tension, the uncomfortable truths. This portrait holds some of that fire, that urgent need to paint life as it really feels, not as it looks.
