Talking with him would’ve been half-argument, half-banter — beer in hand, both of us laughing as we tried to out-mess each other on the canvas. He painted with rebellion, chaos, and wit, reminding us that art doesn’t need to behave — it needs to be alive.

I painted Albert because he’s one of the best to ever do it. A brother in the craft, a provocateur on the same stage I intend to walk, pushing painting forward by refusing to play safe. This portrait catches that edge: raw, layered, and unapologetic.
